M essages and cards make their rounds,
E verywhere can be heard joyful sounds,
R oom and hall decked in green and red,
R ustic the furniture and warm the bed,
Y ouths enjoy being under the mistletoe,
H ot the newly baked biscuits and bread,
R oasted turkey is set for a dinner spread,
I vy and prickly holly hang high and wild,
S tockings over the hearth for every child,
T he fir tree aglow with decorative-light,
M akes the house sparkle new and bright,
A top stands a sweet angel, calm her gaze,
S ymbolizes once, hosts of alleluia praise,
A group of carolers at the front door sing,
N earby, sleigh bells bob, jingle and ring,
D own the hill, kids slide on wood-sleds,
A s ice trickles off roofs of frosted sheds,
H
eaps of presents with surprises in store,
A re placed beside the tree, on the floor,
P ackages in coloured wrappings bound,
P arcels with satin ribbons tied around,
Y oung, old, family and friends all share,
N ew gifts, to show how much they care,
E xcited, too, would be a person in need,
W hen upon him is showered a kind deed,
E veryone makes resolutions to do better,
A nd when the old year completes its end,
R eady are we, to new horizons expand.
